ABOUT THE 2023 CONFERENCE
Thank you for joining us for MSNA’s 66th Annual State Conference, August 6-9, 2023, at the St. Cloud River’s Edge Convention Center. Our 2023 theme is "Adventure Awaits with MSNA."
- The Annual Conference is the "School Event of the Year" and an annual convening for sharing, learning, and networking, and is a time to honor all the work of School Nutrition professionals. Sessions include roundtable discussions, menu planning, sales 101, presentations by MDE, farm-to-school, and so much more. This is a time for the community of school nutrition directors, managers, staff, and industry partners to come together to grow as professionals. Learn how you can improve and enhance your program!
- Of course, we are looking forward to the exhibit hall (vendor show) on Tuesday - our vendors are excited to showcase their products and services.

Sunday Courses
- $190 - ServSafe 8-hour Course & Exam Sunday, August 6, 8:00 AM-6:00 PM (includes breaks and exam time). This is a trademarked ServSafe course led by Michelle Hill, FoodSafetyGuy. Includes a ServSafe Food Manager book with exam answer sheet and proctored ServSafe Food Manager examination. A box lunch will be provided. DEADLINE: AUGUST 1
- $85 - ServSafe 4-Hour Renewal Course Sunday, August 6, 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM. This is a trademarked ServSafe class led by Michelle Hill, FoodSafetyGuy. This is a "refresher" course and only for those who need 4 hrs of training. The 4-CEUs certificate, accepted by MDH, will be issued electronically after class - it must be printed and sent to MDH along with the renewal application and $35 to the address printed on the back of the application form. Lunch is NOT provided. DEADLINE: AUGUST 1
- SNS Exam Separate registration is required. Link & instructions located in registration. DEADLINE: JULY 16

Lea B. Olsen
We're excited to welcome Lea B. Olsen on Wednesday, August 9th! Lea transformed her success on the court into a sports journalism career on ESPN’s national WNBA broadcast team. Lea is a game analyst for the Minnesota Lynx and a television sideline reporter for the Minnesota Timberwolves on Bally Sports North. She also covers Minnesota state high school basketball tournaments. As a motivational speaker, Lea challenges athletes, coaches, and business professionals to rethink winning at all costs.
Lea founded Rethink the Win in 2015 to help preserve a healthy environment for athletes to thrive in. She was also named to the 2023 Twin Cities Business 100 list. Lea played basketball for the University of Minnesota before launching her sports journalism career and is the only Minnesotan to sit on the Board for Bell Bank.

GET INVOLVED AT THE 2023 CONFERENCE!
- 180 Degrees is a nonprofit organization that provides an Emergency Youth Shelter located in St. Cloud for youth in crisis. 180 Degrees creates safe spaces and services that honor each individual's healing journey. Check out the list of items that 180 Degrees is accepting. Please consider donating a few of these items! When you bring them to the conference, there will be tables in the registration area for drop off of items Monday-Wednesday.
- Would you or your chapter would like to donate an item or basket for the Education Scholarship Raffle? The raffle will take place during MSNA’s Annual Conference on Wednesday, August 9. This year, we were able to award three MSNA members the opportunity to attend a conference of their choice due to the funds raised last year at the Annual Conference. Three $500 scholarships were awarded thanks to your baskets!
3) Amazing Adventure Relay
- Did you know about the Amazing Adventure Relay (Lunch Hero Style) at the Annual Conference? This fun activity is composed of a series of relay challenges and will be held on Tuesday, August 8 from 3:15 - 4:30 PM (following the exhibit show). Teams will be participating in challenges designed to challenge their thinking, coordination, and team-work (think puzzles, building, counting, sorting, and much more - sounds like our work environments?!). We had a ton of fun last year, and we challenge you to this again in 2023!
- The Scavenger Hunt takes place on the evening of Tuesday, August 8, from 5:00 - 8:00 PM. Download the free Visit St. Cloud app to play. To be entered to win, you must "check-in" to at least 3 of the locations. Two Winners will be drawn Wednesday morning and posted at Registration.
